Dr. Reginald Johnson Selected as CSW’s President
After an extensive search, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Reginald Johnson as the next President of The Charter School of Wilmington, effective May 15, 2021.
Dr. Johnson most recently served as the Chief of Strategic Partnerships with Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) International, where he led and cultivated partnerships with mission-aligned organizations to help PDK advance its goals of bridging research and practice, elevating the field of education, and developing future teachers. With a deep understanding of teaching and learning, Dr. Johnson has provided support to school leaders across the country to create the conditions for a world-class learning environment.
Prior to joining PDK, Dr. Johnson worked in the School District of Philadelphia as a principal where he led transformation efforts in several underserved communities by expanding access to high quality curriculum, redesigning teacher professional development, and creating an exceptional student experience. Over his 22-year career span, Dr. Johnson has been an executive leadership consultant, psychotherapist, athletic trainer, and teacher. Across these roles, Dr. Johnson has translated his core values into practices that emphasize leading through learning and developing the capacity of others.
Dr. Johnson received his Doctorate of Education Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. His studies centered on examining the impact of collective leadership on organizational advancement. Throughout his development as a leader, Dr. Johnson has rooted his approach to stewardship by modeling empathy, building relationships, and focusing on results.
